The kitchen. Yes, the K-State/eggplant purple is already gone. We painted it red and we intend to do a glazing treatment over the top of the red.

Mid September Update

The Thompson household has been very busy the last few weeks. We are excited to say that we have moved into our new home and are finally putting down some roots. Jeremy has been very busy moving furniture, painting, and assembling baby items. I have been cleaning, picking out paint colors, unpacking boxes, and trying not to lift anything too heavy.
Mom and I traveled up to Kansas City this past weekend. I was really excited to see everyone. Friday night I got to meet my girlfriends from nursing school on the Plaza for dinner. It was good to catch up on everything that has happened this summer in KC. Nicole was gracious enough to let me run in Cheesecake factory afterwards to help me satisfy a craving for chocolate mousse cheesecake eventhough we rode together and she hates cheesecake and she had to work really early the next morning. Thanks Nicole!
Saturday we watched the OSU game on tv and then went out to Louisburg to celebrate Kaitlin's 18th birthday. I can't believe that Kaitlin is now an adult and my little brother will soon be too.
Sunday we went to my great-grandmother's for brunch. In the afternoon my grandmother hosted a shower for me and baby at her house. We played some fun shower games compliments of Madison and opened some great gifts. Once again I was glad to catch up with some OBC, college, and CMH friends that I hadn't seen since April. Jeremy's mom and Rachel were even able to come from Illinois. It was a fun afternoon except for the boys who were banned to the basement, but I don't think they minded so much because they got to watch the Chiefs game.
Today Jeremy and I both had the day off so we ran a few errands and then went to several furniture stores looking for a crib, dresser, glider, and ottoman. After searching three huge furniture stores we went into USA Baby and were overwhelmed by the selection and the number of items that we liked. We finally settled on an dark espresso convertible crib and dresser and a really comfy glider and ottoman in a soft taupe microfiber. The glider and ottoman will arrive in 4 weeks. The crib and dresser will be in in 4-8 weeks. If it takes 8 weeks we will be 35 weeks by then so it will be just in time.

About Us

Edmond, Oklahoma, United States
Jeremy and I met in high school. We were members of the same church youth group. One night before youth group it was raining very hard. My mom suggested that I call Jeremy for a ride. I really didn't want to- being a lowly sophomore it wouldn't be very cool to call a senior for a ride. For some reason (most likely because of God's prodding) I called Jeremy. Within the next week we hung out three more times. Then I came down with Mono, but I still had the strength to ask Jeremy to be my date to a Saddie Hawkins dance. Jeremy of course said yes. A few days before the dance Jeremy asked me to date him at Gumby's Pizza after a friend's baptism and wrecking his car. We have been inseparable ever since. After 6 years of dating, Jeremy and I said "I do". The last year and a half has been a whirlwind. Jeremy moved to KC while I finished my nursing degree. I began my nursing career and now Jeremy will be graduating in May. This May also brings more change as we will be moving and starting new jobs in Edmond, Oklahoma. In addition we found out that we are expecting our first child to arrive in December. Follow our blog as God takes us on the wonderful journey of building our family.
