This afternoon we had our second appointment with Dr. Mirabile and were praying that this one would go better than the last one. I had loads of fun with all the labs and the glucose tolerance test that they wanted done- not! I had to drink 12oz of a carbonated beverage that contained 50g of sugar and I had to do it within 4-5 minutes. It normally takes me hours to finish a can of Diet Coke. I have a lot more labs to do on Tuesday morning too. They wanted 20 tubes of blood total! The bright spot of the appointment was that we got to see the baby again. We were able to see a lot more this time too.
For my NICU friends following this, he went throught all major brain structures (hemispheres, ventricles, cerebellum, pons, thalamus, pituitary, etc.), spinal cord and all vertebrae present and intact, 4 chambered heart (echo to follow in a few weeks), intact diaphragm with stomach below, bladder in the pelvic cavity with good perfusion, 3 vessel cord, all extremity bones present and of appropriate length (femur, humerus, etc), 5 digit hands and feet, and eyes, nose, and palate all intact and in proper placement. The nuchal fold had shrunken significantly. More than likely it was at its peak last time since they are off on my dates. The baby was active, but a little less crazy than last time. Heart rate was in the mid 150s. We also got 4-D pics. The 20 week ultrasound we will be able to see the liver, spleen, and kidneys. I think that about covers it.
They have bumped my due date up again- by a week this time. So now we are looking at Dec. 8th. I have updated the ticker. We got back on July 1st. By then we will be far enough along that I can start hounding them for a definite answer on the sex of the baby.
*** We are taking bets on the babies weight, length, and DOB and any name suggestions (first and middle) that you might have***

About Us
- Jeremy & Lacey
- Edmond, Oklahoma, United States
- Jeremy and I met in high school. We were members of the same church youth group. One night before youth group it was raining very hard. My mom suggested that I call Jeremy for a ride. I really didn't want to- being a lowly sophomore it wouldn't be very cool to call a senior for a ride. For some reason (most likely because of God's prodding) I called Jeremy. Within the next week we hung out three more times. Then I came down with Mono, but I still had the strength to ask Jeremy to be my date to a Saddie Hawkins dance. Jeremy of course said yes. A few days before the dance Jeremy asked me to date him at Gumby's Pizza after a friend's baptism and wrecking his car. We have been inseparable ever since. After 6 years of dating, Jeremy and I said "I do". The last year and a half has been a whirlwind. Jeremy moved to KC while I finished my nursing degree. I began my nursing career and now Jeremy will be graduating in May. This May also brings more change as we will be moving and starting new jobs in Edmond, Oklahoma. In addition we found out that we are expecting our first child to arrive in December. Follow our blog as God takes us on the wonderful journey of building our family.
I am so happy to hear everything is going well. I am praying for all three of you. Love you
