As soon as Dr. Houk found out about our little trip to L&D he wanted to see me in his office yesterday. I still was not dilated and he put me on Procardia in addition to the Terbutaline to help stop the contractions. So far the Procardia is working as long as I take it regularly.
This morning I went in to have my glucose tolerance test (gtt) done after following a special diet for 3 days and fasting for 12 hours. For anyone that is not familiar with gtt's, they draw your fasting serum glucose level then make you drink 100 grams of sugar in a 4 oz drink within 3 minutes and then draw your serum glucose level every hour for 3 hours. Meanwhile you try to cure your boredom by reading really pointless magazines in the hard lab waiting room chairs and can not eat or drink anything. Drinking that much sugar and in that little amount of time on an empty stomach makes you have the worst belly ache and want to vomit. For two and a half hours I felt terrible and it was all I could do to hold it down because I did not want to go through this again. With lots of prayer I got through it and now we wait to find out whether I have gestational diabetes or not.

About Us
- Jeremy & Lacey
- Edmond, Oklahoma, United States
- Jeremy and I met in high school. We were members of the same church youth group. One night before youth group it was raining very hard. My mom suggested that I call Jeremy for a ride. I really didn't want to- being a lowly sophomore it wouldn't be very cool to call a senior for a ride. For some reason (most likely because of God's prodding) I called Jeremy. Within the next week we hung out three more times. Then I came down with Mono, but I still had the strength to ask Jeremy to be my date to a Saddie Hawkins dance. Jeremy of course said yes. A few days before the dance Jeremy asked me to date him at Gumby's Pizza after a friend's baptism and wrecking his car. We have been inseparable ever since. After 6 years of dating, Jeremy and I said "I do". The last year and a half has been a whirlwind. Jeremy moved to KC while I finished my nursing degree. I began my nursing career and now Jeremy will be graduating in May. This May also brings more change as we will be moving and starting new jobs in Edmond, Oklahoma. In addition we found out that we are expecting our first child to arrive in December. Follow our blog as God takes us on the wonderful journey of building our family.
Oh Lacey...that sounds nauseating! Here's hoping everything turns out ok...you guys have had a crazy week!!
