The Big Reveal

Today was Jeremy's graduation from the wonderful University of Kansas! We were very excited to share this big event with lots of family and friends, but we were also excited, nervous, and anxious to share the other big event in our lives with our families today. Some of you may ask why we would let the baby steal Jeremy's thunder after all his hard work. Well, we wanted to tell everyone together (when one of you is moving to another state that makes it difficult), we wanted to do it in person, and we wanted to tell both sides of the family at fairly close to the same time. Jeremy's graduation day was the only time in the anywhere near future that all those conditions could be met. It was Jeremy's idea to begin with and secretly I think he was more excited about the baby than graduating.

Just before Jeremy's semi-surprise party we pulled his parents and my parents outside and told them we had a little gift for each of them. Inside their black gift box tied with a ribbon they found onesies that read
Coming Soon
I Grandma
I Grandpa

I think the overall reaction could be described as shock. Regretfully we didn't have much time to talk about it because party guests were arriving and the food was not entirely ready so we headed back inside. The rest of the day was great. Jeremy looked so proud to be walking the hill and I was so excited for him and now we have no big secrets!

  1. I am very proud of Jeremiah! He has done well in his life. He started out on his own during a very difficult time in our family life, finished his studies while working fulltime and living at times with very rowdy roommates, chose a wonderful godly wife(whom I am also very proud of) and now he is preparing for a new role in life! Daddy! You kids are doing great in your life and I will continue to pray for God's blessing on you and your family. Love you!

About Us

Edmond, Oklahoma, United States
Jeremy and I met in high school. We were members of the same church youth group. One night before youth group it was raining very hard. My mom suggested that I call Jeremy for a ride. I really didn't want to- being a lowly sophomore it wouldn't be very cool to call a senior for a ride. For some reason (most likely because of God's prodding) I called Jeremy. Within the next week we hung out three more times. Then I came down with Mono, but I still had the strength to ask Jeremy to be my date to a Saddie Hawkins dance. Jeremy of course said yes. A few days before the dance Jeremy asked me to date him at Gumby's Pizza after a friend's baptism and wrecking his car. We have been inseparable ever since. After 6 years of dating, Jeremy and I said "I do". The last year and a half has been a whirlwind. Jeremy moved to KC while I finished my nursing degree. I began my nursing career and now Jeremy will be graduating in May. This May also brings more change as we will be moving and starting new jobs in Edmond, Oklahoma. In addition we found out that we are expecting our first child to arrive in December. Follow our blog as God takes us on the wonderful journey of building our family.
