Two months to go!

Well, it is now October. Last weekend we went to our first Cowboys game with my parents and Ryan. We had a lot of fun tailgating. OSU football is very much a family affair and not so much about the drunk college kids which was nice. I could not bear to put my son in orange(or myself, loyalties aside I would have looked like a giant pumpkin) so I wore black. Come to find out, OSU was playing Grambling State whose colors are black and yellow. Oops!
This weekend Jeremy and I went out on a date to the movies on Friday after decorating letters for the nursery, painting a closet, and cooking dinner. Saturday we went to a few garage sales to try and find a changing table, then to the grocery store, and then we both went to work. Today it was rainy and cool, very much a fall day. We went to church, over to my parents' house for a bowl of soup, and then Jeremy went to work and I watched football with my dad and brother for a while. It was a productive and relaxing weekend.
Jeremy and I are trying to enjoy the time together (and the sleep) we have now, but the arrival of our little guy can't come soon enough. December seems so close and yet so far away. We had another appointment with Dr. Mirabile this week. Everything went well and we got to see Peanut on ultrasound again (pictures to come as soon as Jeremy can get them downloaded because we all know that I am technologically challenged). Praise God for a healthy baby and healthy mommy so far. We have another appointment with Dr. Houk on Wednesday. Hopefully we will get a more definite plan for delivery in place. We will also be doing another glucose tolerance test. Pray that this comes back normal and that he finds my swelling and contractions to all be a part of normal pregnancy as well.
We pretty much have the house ready for Peanut. The glider and ottoman for the nursery should arrive in the next week or two and we don't have anything up on the walls in the house, but we have made a lot of progress. Maybe Grandpa David can help Jeremy with one or two of the remaining projects when he comes to visit this next weekend.
I realized this week that I probably should get my Christmas shopping done pretty soon, at least before the baby arrives. But with the flu going around so bad I don't really want to leave the house except to go to work and doctor's appointments. I guess I will have to come up with some kind of solution to that dilemma.

About Us

Edmond, Oklahoma, United States
Jeremy and I met in high school. We were members of the same church youth group. One night before youth group it was raining very hard. My mom suggested that I call Jeremy for a ride. I really didn't want to- being a lowly sophomore it wouldn't be very cool to call a senior for a ride. For some reason (most likely because of God's prodding) I called Jeremy. Within the next week we hung out three more times. Then I came down with Mono, but I still had the strength to ask Jeremy to be my date to a Saddie Hawkins dance. Jeremy of course said yes. A few days before the dance Jeremy asked me to date him at Gumby's Pizza after a friend's baptism and wrecking his car. We have been inseparable ever since. After 6 years of dating, Jeremy and I said "I do". The last year and a half has been a whirlwind. Jeremy moved to KC while I finished my nursing degree. I began my nursing career and now Jeremy will be graduating in May. This May also brings more change as we will be moving and starting new jobs in Edmond, Oklahoma. In addition we found out that we are expecting our first child to arrive in December. Follow our blog as God takes us on the wonderful journey of building our family.
